Southampton
Training Centre
As Kelly Group continues its nationwide expansion, the
demand for highly skilled, safety-conscious engineers has
never been higher.
The latest investment in learning and development, the
2.35-acre Southampton Training Centre, is a high-spec
environment designed to bridge the gap between theory
and the front line. By transforming a former DVLA and
MOT site into a state-of-the-art facility, ensuring Kelly
Group engineers are “field-ready” before they even turn a
key in their vans.
“The key feature in Southampton, is having a real road at our disposal,”
says Mark Brian, Head of Training and Recruitment. “This enables us to deliver
Street works training, in a real life
environment.”
Most training centres rely on simulated environments,
but Southampton offers something unique. Utilising the
site’s original infrastructure a “Real-Life Streetworks”
zone has been developed.
The practical-heavy curriculum that new recruits learn
paired with training areas that replicate the real world,
ensures trainees aren’t just learning from a manual;
they are gaining “operational muscle memory” in a safe,
controlled, yet authentic setting.
