Scaling the Hyperoptic Programme Within Kelly Group’s Major Programmes portfolio, the Hyperoptic programme for Virgin Media has progressed from its initial phases into a large-scale rollout. The project focuses on delivering high-capacity network upgrades, specifically trunk routes, which form the backbone of the network. These fibre arteries provide the core infrastructure that supports all local customer connections. Phased Delivery Over the past year, the programme has gained significant momentum. Following the successful completion of more than 450 work orders in our region during Phase One, the project is now progressing into its second phase. To date, Kelly Group has delivered multiple trunk routes, installing approximately 94 kilometres of fibre cabling. As the programme expands, overall delivery volumes are expected to double as the next phase of the 2026 delivery cycle progresses. The Power of Specialised Resource Maintaining this pace requires a highly skilled workforce, with teams holding advanced technical accreditations to support complex infrastructure delivery and high-capacity fibre splicing activities. The programme is currently supported by the following weekly resource profile: • Four two-person cabling teams • Two two-person splicing teams • One two-person construction team By utilising existing Major Programme accreditations, we have scaled without additional upskilling, ensuring a seamless transition into higher-volume work. Capturing the London Market While the programme has a national reach, the strategic centre of the rollout is London, where the majority of Hyperoptic work orders are concentrated. Kelly Group managed 40% of Virgin Media’s national Hyperoptic programme delivery. Commenting on the programme’s growth, AJ Hagi-Ali the Regional Manager said: Visualising the Infrastructure: An illustrative representation of Kelly Group’s network delivery for Virgin Media; (not an accurate network map). 10. CONTRACT NEWS - VIRGIN MEDIA “The upturn in orders marks a new chapter for the programme” AJ Hagi-Ali, Regional Manager Local Access: The distribution network that “feeds off” the trunk, branching into streets and residential areas. Trunk Route: High-capacity fibre arteries that transport massive data volumes between regional hubs. Network Hubs: Strategic connection points where trunk routes are spliced into local distribution lines.
