I started training as an FTTP engineer this September and it is amazing to be rewarded for my safe driving. I have gained extensive knowledge and experience working with fibre optics and a great team that Im sure will be motivated by my reward to prioritise road safety. During an average month, I tend to drive approximately 1200 miles safely. My biggest advice for fellow engineers is to stick to speed limits and be extra cautious when approaching hazards.Andy DeanDriving Risk Manager Said:It was a pleasure to present this months 1000 prize for one of our new-to-field engineers; Carl Coates, whos only been with Kelly Group for a few months at the time. He sets a leading example for new engineers about the importance of our safe driving standards and will inspire future engineers to adopt an elite drivers attitude from day one.Paul JohnstonNovemberPaul said:It was such a great surprise to win the 1000 reward just before Christmas. I joined Kelly Group in September 2022 as a Fibre Engineer on our CityFibre contract which was an amazing opportunity to gain experience and learn the ins and outs of fibre optics.I previously worked in sales within the fibre industry and never knew what really is involved within the fibre networksince I became an engineer, Ive learnt a lot as every job is a new challenge. The Elite Drivers Club is a great road safety initiative, I was happy to become a member soon after I joined. Throughout an average month, I drive approximately 2000 miles. My biggest tip when engineers start driving their vans is to adopt the same safe driving techniques you would practice while driving your cars but be extra cautious of driving a much bigger vehicle.Andy DeanDriving Risk Manager Said:Paul has always worked hard since the start of his journey and was scoring in the elite range from his first week with Kelly Group. Im glad he made it safe for his prize presentation on this snowy morning to accept his reward. I was happy to present his brand-new van featuring our sustainable full wrap and his 1000 reward. Well done, Paul! The Networker Winter 2022 33.'
