b'CITY FIBRE EXPANSIONBack-Office SupportWe asked some key members of the team about their roles Spotlight on the Teamand what makes their work both challenging and rewardingChelsea Northall(MDUIOD Dispatcher)Asalong-standingteammemberWhatexcitesyouthemostaboutthecurrent expansion? Im excited to gain new skills and experience as the project continues to expand. During the process of expansion, Ive been given opportunities to expand my own knowledge and further understand the project. Learning new skills has enabled me to become multi-trained in job roles across the back office, in turn, leading to exciting developments in my own career path.Alan Motteran (Jeopardy Dispatcher)Whats the most challenging part of handling high-priority issues, and how do you stay on top of them? As a Jeopardy Coordinator, managing high-priority issues is a key element of my job role. The role of a jeopardy coordinator is to foresee potential problems that may limit our ability to attend and/or complete City Fibre installations. A common challenge is when different teams have conflicting priorities, which can make it hard to know where to focus our efforts. To handle this, I speak with everyone involvedmanagers, engineers, and team leadsto find a solution that works for all sides. By acting as a go-between, I help make sure the most important tasks get the right support while still keeping other priorities in mind. This approach keeps things moving and helps build a more cooperative work environment.Chantel Probert(Controls Dispatcher)Whats one thing people might not realise about the work you do in Controls? Working in controls isnt just about answering a phone. Its about managing relationships on all different levels, being the ring master and orchestrating management and field teams to make the overall machine work. I would say working as a team is very important with our variation of roles but no matter what the role, we all share the same importance to make sure our role as a whole is successful.Dilon Nash(Civils Administrator)Whats the key to keeping dispatch operations running smoothly under pressure?I think the most crucial part of maintaining a good relationship between departments comes down to a singular simplistic point of Communication. Communicating what we need and when we need it in a positive and timely manner allows us to prioritise specific workloads and jobs whilst understanding that there can always be delays and unforeseen circumstances which once communicated to us gives us the opportunity to plan around and act accordingly allowing us to continue to hit targets and strive forward.16.'
