Were introducingwhile maintaining the same standards of safety and security systems into Scottish Powers substations, managingquality.the entire installation, our work includes CCTV, perimeter detection, speakers and intruder alarm systems and all the civils, cable installation, terminating and testing that go with it.With new technologies being utilised, the work being undertaken expands Kelly Rails capabilities.Theres some new equipment that we learned about taking on this project Andy explains Weve installed perimeter detection before, but this project uses a new technology involving vibration detection that activate security measures on site.With new diversification in work, comes new working environments and new safety measures. Andy explained:Our team have also undergone additional training to comply with Scottish Powers procedures. These are high voltage environments we are working within, up to 400kV on some sites, so weve undergone training about the components within substations and the safety distances we 10.'
