IRSE Team Leader

Post Responsibilities

• Commitment and full awareness of the life-saving rules and Kelly Rail UK Values: Safety, Integrity, Delivery, Excellence, Customer and Teamwork.
• Liaising with COSS / Supervisor (NWR) and SPC / Supervisor (LU) on all work activities.
• Ensure all works are carried out in a safe and controlled manner.
• Ensuring that all installation work carried out is compliant to NWR and LU standards (as applicable).
• Management of all site staff within the work party.
• Ensuring all site staff have appropriate personal protective equipment for the activity being carried out.
• Report any close call / incidents / accidents in line with company procedures.

Operational Responsibilities

• Completion of all site documentation in line with Kelly Rail UK procedures upon completion of shift.
• Carry out site audits to assess material requirements for future planned works.
• Ensure installation standards and techniques are followed and maintained.
• Confirm that shift reports are completed correctly at the end of each working shift.

HSQE Responsibilities

• Ensure that all staff are aware and compliant with all Kelly Rail UK safety policies, procedures and values.
• Ensure that all staff are compliant with NWR / LU safety standards.
• Report close calls/near misses in a timely manner, in line with company policies and procedures.
• Implement the ‘Work Safe’ procedure in unsafe situations.
• Ensure that all staff under your control are fully briefed before work commences.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings and record attendance
• Ensure appropriate PPE is worn and maintained to acceptable levels at all times.

Railway Competence:

• IRSE Team Leader license 1.8.100.
• IRSE Installer license 1.2.110 (desirable)
• COSS / SPC.
• PTS/DCCR and/or LUCAS.
• BTA (LU)

Railway Competence / Knowledge:

• Basic Signalling Principles 
• Basic Signalling 1
• Basic Signalling 2
• RRI (Desirable)
• SSI (Desirable)
• Basic Fault Finding
• NWR Communications
• Working knowledge of signalling equipment such as Track Circuits, Axle Counters, Point mechanisms, Level crossings

Experience

• Minimum of 18mths in Team Leader role.
