Driving Assessor

Kelly Group is currently looking to recruit the very best talent and have a unique opportunity for an experienced driving assessor to join our expanding team. This role will involve delivering driver training in a range of vehicle types to both internal personnel and external clients. You will be required to conduct assessments of competence and report on the outcomes so that company driving standards are maintained at a high level in line with policies and procedures, and to contribute to the planning and implementation of driver training strategies.

Within the role you will be required to work on a national basis at short notice. 

In your role you will be responsible for:

• To deliver driver training to every company driver to enable them to fulfil their role
• To act within company guidelines and to conduct other assessments of competence of operational and support staff in accordance with their organisational role.
• To assist the Claims / Risk Manager in researching, planning and implementing driver training activities in accordance with training strategies to ensure effective and efficient resource utilisation.
• To provide advice and guidance on all driver training issues to support continuous learning and development of staff and to bring forward recommendations for developing and promoting a culture of personal responsibility for improving driving standards.
• To ensure that driver training records are maintained to a high standard and that all information held on computer is relevant, timely and accurate and to ensure that confidentiality is protected in line with the provisions of data protection legislation
• To liaise with the Claims / Risk Manager to manage the production, storing and updating of e-learning modules, training manuals, notes, videos and other training media associated with driver training
• Carry out DVLA checks on all drivers when assessed/re-assessed
• Lead classroom training sessions for all new recruits leaving training School
• Interview drivers regarding serious drive care complaints, Out of Hours driving, and fault or disputed accidents
• In the event of an accident, investigate locations, photograph location and prepare a full detailed report
• Liaise with all sites in regard to outstanding driver assessments

What we are looking for:

• Excellent driving skills, road safety knowledge and enthusiasm for driving
• Good knowledge of Road Traffic regulations.
• The ability to give clear instructions, and to adapt your teaching style to suit each client, for example nervous learners
• Patience and good 'people' skills
• The ability to stay calm and point out mistakes in a constructive way
• Good observational skills and the ability to react quickly and safely to any problems
• A basic knowledge of maintaining vehicle maintenance
• Thorough understanding of learning concepts
• Good organisational skills
• The ability to pay attention to detail

• The ability to work to tight deadlines

You will need the following qualifications to apply:

• Full clean driving licence that must comply with DVSA checks
• Expected to qualify towards ADI & DSA fleet badge
• Expected to hold the following categories on driving license: Categories: A, B, B+E, C, C+E, plus proven experience of driving the vehicles for each category
• CPC holder
