Bodyshop Vehicle Prepper

Kelly Group is looking for an experienced Bodyshop Vehicle Prepper to join our Fleet Services team in Dunstable.

Working across a varied fleet, predominantly vans, you'll play an important part in making sure vehicles are professionally prepared and ready for paint. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail and can consistently produce a high-quality finish in a busy workshop environment. 

What You'll Be Doing:

• Preparing vehicle bodywork and panels ready for painting
• Carrying out sanding, masking and general preparation work
• Completing minor panel repairs and M.E.T. preparation where required
• Preparing paint spraying equipment
• Mixing paints to achieve the correct colour and consistency
• Working with water-based paint systems
• Identifying imperfections and ensuring surfaces meet the required standard before paint application
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment and keeping your work area organised
• Ensuring paints and associated materials are stored correctly
• Supporting the management of paint, materials and equipment stock
• Working productively while maintaining a consistently high standard
• Following all workshop health and safety procedures

What We're Looking For:

• Previous experience working as a Vehicle Prepper, Bodyshop Prepper or similar
• Previous hands-on experience within an automotive/bodyshop workshop
• Experience using water-based paints
• Good knowledge of vehicle body preparation and minor repair techniques
• Excellent attention to detail
• The ability to work effectively without constant supervision
• A flexible and adaptable approach to work
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to remain calm and maintain standards in a busy workshop
• A full UK manual driving licence held for a minimum of 1 year.
