Kelly Group is delighted to introduce Steve Taylor and Addis Haile our recent Elite Drivers Club monthly reward winners.
At Kelly Group our workforce’s safety is always a top priority.
See below Safety Tip of The Month:
Plan Your Routes
Plan your journeys before you set off for a busy day. This will help you optimise your driving time throughout the day and distribute your jobs so you can take comfort breaks from driving. If you are required to drive through an unfamiliar route, use a mapping tool or GPS to guide you through a shorter and more time efficient journey.
Steve Taylor our March Winner
Steve started his journey with Kelly Group 4 years ago as an apprentice. During this time, he has completed training on all major networks as part of our scheme. Upon graduation, he decided to continue working on the CityFibre contract as a Fibre Engineer.
Steve said:
“I drive on average around 300 miles a week. I feel good about been recognised and it also makes me feel proud to represent both myself and the company well while driving my vehicle.
After sharing the good news with my colleagues, a lot of them asked me how I won? It started a conversation about things we can all do to improve our driving. I think the more people who know about the scheme and the benefits of becoming an elite driver, will encourage friendly competition amongst employees.
When I’m driving, I’m always very aware of how big the van is and if I have to walk a short distance knowing my van is safely parked up, I’m more than happy to do so rather than causing issues for other vehicles on the road."
Andrew Dean – Driving Risk Manager Said:
“I was delighted to have the opportunity to present Steve with his cheque when he won our Elite Drivers Club monthly prize draw in March.
It was a pleasure to meet Steve and put a smile on his face. The elite driving style can only be achieved by determination and focus. Self-discipline is a big factor in his safety score, and he has consistently been featured in our Elite Drivers Club database amongst other safe drivers.
Good luck to our drivers for the upcoming draw.”
Addis Haile our April Winner
Addis Said:
“I would like to thank the company for recognising me as an Elite Driver and their generosity. I wasn’t expecting to win this at all – I’m still shocked because the number of Elite Drivers is growing every day and the competition is increasing with it. Our driving score is always a talking point amongst our team, we learn from each other’s experience and give tips for each other. My personal tip is don’t overthink it – instead of focusing on your driving score focus on the road and ensure you’re driving safe.”
Andrew Dean – Driving Risk Manager Said…
“It was a pleasure to present the £1000 cheque to Addis. I surprised him during one of his team meetings and held a little talk about safe driving to his entire team – he was engaging with tips and answers throughout the presentation showcasing his passion for safe driving. I’m glad this month’s winner is another worthy driver within the Group.”
