My Journey so Far...
“I started my journey with Kelly Group in October 2017 as a field engineer. While I was being trained to become a telecoms engineer, I decided to apply for the national trainer vacancy because of my previous training background in the military - I was thrilled to receive my promotion.
In past years I’ve enjoyed teaching and training people within the military, that’s where I attained most of my qualifications as a trainer. Delivering a presentation was part of the interview process and I utilised a lot of army training principles and applied this knowledge to our industry.
I am qualified to deliver a wide range of modules for new recruits including service delivery, civils, re-installation of modular surfaces and underground network modules and I am also a licenced Tetra Instructor. I am proud to be a cross-functional member of the training department and try to provide the best possible contribution to the success of our department. “
Adam Sargent – National Trainer
My journey so far…
“I started my career within Kelly Group in 2017. Since then, I’ve progressed through different roles where I’ve had the opportunity to demonstrate leadership skills. This resulted in my promotion into a project manager role on one of our poling projects.
Being a manager; coaching and developing people was one of the tasks that I truly enjoyed most. I joined the training department as a mobile National Trainer at the beginning of 2021, specialising in the delivery of pole training.
I am one of the two lead assessors within Kelly Group. Every week is different, as a mobile trainer, I travel around many depots which I enjoy a lot. I deliver courses on essential poling principles and help engineers to develop knowledge that enables them to make informed and safe choices while working in the field. These courses also include modules about pole deployment and recovery.
I enjoy interacting with engineers and building good relationships with my colleagues. What I like the most is supporting engineers’ development and teaching them new techniques. It is such a rewarding job as I get to see engineers’ progression.
I’ve been fortunate enough to come across many inspirational people at Kelly Group who are very much a part of my career journey today.
I would recommend joining the group for the wide range of opportunities and because of the supportive, friendly working environment. If you work hard you can progress into different roles and achieve your career ambitions.”
Dan Salotra – National Trainer
My Journey so Far...
“I started working for the group in September 2020 as a Traffic Management Team Leader. When our department was relocated to another site, I was delighted to be transferred to the training department and become a national trainer. I teach all traffic management related modules and complete assessments. I am currently working towards attaining additional qualifications to be able to deliver a wider range of technical training qualifications.
What I enjoy the most about my new role is the sense of community amongst our team. There’s always something new to learn and it is nice to be surrounded by colleagues who care about my personal development and career.
My biggest career highlight was managing a media hub for the 2012 London Olympics where the world’s media congregated and transmitted to various venues across London.”
