RSG conducted market research last year to identify major challenges that might have a negative effect on the productivity of the rail industry. The research was based on eight pilot projects with the participation of 28 UK organisations.
It was concluded that information sharing will improve efficiency and productivity across the supply chain by allowing suppliers sufficient time to produce, prepare and deliver orders with confidence, reducing the possibility of project completion delays. Furthermore, the commitment to the sharing work pipeline will create a more transparent and dynamic working environment and establish trust amongst organisations operating within the rail industry.
The RSG campaign encourages businesses to commit to the charter by proactively sharing their work pipeline information with suppliers.
