Sunday, 4th September 2022, seen the 10th Annual, London Irish Vintage Charity Day held at Tir Chonaill Park, organised by The London Irish Vintage Club.
Kelly Group was delighted to support this year’s belated, 10th anniversary event, which since its inception in 2011, has raised an incredible £792,500 for good causes (excluding 2022).
The goal of this charity day is to raise awareness and vital funds for local charitable causes and amplify the tireless, hard work each foundation does to give back to the community. Each year sees four charities nominated that support local communities within the surrounding area and donations are split equally to support each important cause. This year’s charity day has supported: Southwark Helping Hands, Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre, Dementia Concern and Ealing and Peace Hospice Care, Watford.
The day saw an excellent line-up of artists entertaining attendees throughout the day including Mary Rose, Hungry Grass, David James and the Irish country music sensation – Nathan Carter.
Organiser Brendan ‘Tiny’ Vaughan extended his thanks to the Irish community for all their generous support over the past 10 years.
He said: “It very much is a team effort and the LIVC are thankful to all the companies and individuals who come together to make the event possible.”
The Group was delighted to host this year’s event sponsors, artists, and guests within our Kelly Group bar, positioned adjacent to the main stage and welcomed hundreds of guests throughout the day. The setup featured a 6-meter vintage bar, beer garden and our 1983 CF 250 Bedford van. During the evening, The Hungry Grass band provided excellent entertainment for our guests with a private performance inside our Kelly Group Sponsor’s Bar – guests were also treated to a spontaneous singalong with festival headliner Nathan Carter !
This Year’s Supported Charities
Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre
The Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre is an inner-city community RDA riding school to help children and young people flourish, many of whom have learning difficulties and physical disabilities.
Over the years the Pony Centre has grown from three ponies and hand-built stables to a professional establishment with a traditional stable yard that homes 20 horses and ponies; run by a small team of experienced staff and dedicated volunteers.
The charity organisation’s mission is to improve the quality of life and encourage children to make the most of their childhood.
Dementia Concern
Dementia Concern supports people living with dementia and their carers to live as independently as possible by providing dementia care services and practical help. The charity has been providing information and support services in the London Borough of Ealing since 1982. They work closely with local partners, GP surgeries and wider health organisations, such as the West London Health Trust to develop services supporting the growing community need.
Peace Hospice Care
Peace Hospice Care provides free specialist palliative care while empowering patients to achieve the best quality of life possible, which is done through their work in the community and the Hospice itself. Peace Hospice Care was first opened in 1925 by Princess Mary, built as a memorial to those killed in World War One. After its closure in 1985, the Hospice was reopened in 1993 by the South West Hertfordshire Hospital Charitable Trust.
Southwark Helping Hands
Southwark Helping Hands is a club to assist those with learning and physical disabilities aspiring to help individuals in the Bermondsey area of South East London to develop social skills that allow them to experience all the advantages of independence where possible.
Kelly Group is proud to support The London Irish Vintage Club’s fundraising efforts and we’re very much looking forward to supporting local charities in the future.
