Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest charities in the UK whose goal is to provide specialist health care, information, and financial support to people affected by cancer. They consider the social and emotional impact cancer can have and advocate for better cancer care with their nationwide campaigns.
On the 28th September 2022, Kelly Group was thrilled to host Macmillan Cancer Supports annual Coffee Morning raising funds for people living with cancer awareness of issues most important for them.
Where does your money go?
The charity supported over 2.4 million people affected by cancer with vital emotional, practical and financial cancer support through their support services including:
Healthcare – they support a range of health and social care platforms.
Financial Support – they provide financial support to help people who are struggling with the cost of living with cancer
Information & Support – they provide information to help people make important decisions about their treatment and care
Practical & Emotional Support – they help people find the emotional support they need and get help with the practical issues arising from cancer
Learning & Development – they provide training opportunities for professionals, volunteers and people affected by cancer
Ciara Redmond, one of Kelly Group’s Office Manager went above and beyond by organising a coffee morning with help from Ana-Melisa Issa and Kinga Vagany at our Brimsdown office to raise funds and support this incredible charity.

“Macmillan Cancer Support is a wonderful charity which is very close to my heart because Macmillan nurses supported and cared for my grandfather when he was ill. Their annual nationwide Coffee Morning is a great opportunity to celebrate their tireless work and raise awareness of the support they offer for people living with cancer and their families. It’s also a nice to see different departments from within Brimsdown coming together to have fun but also to discuss issues, which wouldn’t come up in our everyday conversations. There were many bakers participating in this year’s bake sale – even those who can’t bake gave it a go… or got some treats from the store! This year’s bake sale was the biggest event since I started doing it and was in our canteen. Thank you for Melissa and Kinga for helping me organise it and a huge thanks to everyone for their generous donations.”
Ciara’s coffee morning raised a fantastic £251 for Macmillan Cancer Support. A huge thanks to our Kelly Group Brimsdown team who showed their support and to Ciara for organising an excellent fundraising event.
