“We exist to defend the right to a safe home. Join us in ending the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and our communities.” – Shelter
On Friday 13th May 2022, our Kelly Group workforce came together from across the country to take part in this year’s charity football tournament in aid of the national housing and homeless charity Shelter.
Shelter is the UK’s leading charity fighting to defend the right to a safe home of homeless people and those who are suffering from housing matters.
The tournament took place at Powerleague Mill Hill, North London, with 14 teams traveling from all over the country. 100 + players took part, including office staff, directors, field engineers and managers all competing to be crowned the next Kelly Group Champions.

With 50+ matches played over 13+ hours of total match play and few minor injuries, we are happy to announce that the 2022 Charity Football Tournament Champions are Brimsdown Avengers.
Team Members: Tim Kelly Jr., Rashid Collins, Noel Ribbon, Kyle Ferguson, Will Wilson, Adam Sargent and Ferrard Sof
A huge congratulations to our champions!
Tim Kelly Jr – Team Captain of Brimsdown Avengers said:
“Following last year’s defeat at the Movember tournament, the team and I were eagerly awaiting the chance to lift the winning trophy this year! We had a fantastic full day of football with 9 games played in total and I’m happy to say all games were won…
With such a large workforce, this kind of activity is a fantastic way to unite multiple departments from around the country and an excellent opportunity for individuals to put faces to names.
The tournament was played on Friday 13th which was also during the UKs Mental Health Awareness Week. Mental health is one of the key contributors to homelessness, thus I’m delighted that we’ve been able to support and raise awareness for the homeless charity Shelter.
We’re very much looking forward to the next event - a huge thanks to everyone who took part and congratulations to all our winners.”

Unfortunately, homelessness and housing problems are an often-overlooked matter. Those who are sleeping rough or suffering from housing problems may live in dangerous conditions and feel isolated from our society. We take our homes for granted, unaware that all it takes to lose such a luxury is financial problems, mental health problems, loss of a job, serious addiction, leaving the care system, broken relationships (domestic abuse and violence) or difficulties due to renting a home privately.
Shelter provides support for housing problems:
Locally: access to advice, support and guidance for services are available on a one-to-one basis with any housing, welfare benefit or debt issue. To find out more about your local Shelter services click Here.
Online: access to expert information about matters such as reclaiming your deposit to applying as homeless. A webchat service also provides access to advisers online. For more information click Here.
Over the Phone: access to a free emergency helpline is open 365 days a year to answer calls from anyone struggling with housing issues or homelessness. For more information click Here.
Legal: access to free legal advice with qualified solicitors and attend court to provide support for those who’ve lost their homes or are facing eviction. For more information click Here.
