Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest charities in the UK whose goal is to provide specialist health care, information, and financial support to people affected by cancer. They consider the social and emotional impact cancer can have and advocate for better cancer care with their nationwide campaigns.
Ciara Redmond, one of Kelly Group’s team managers went above and beyond by organising a coffee morning with help from Eliza Neagu, Ana-Melisa Issa and Andreea Toca at our Brimsdown depot to raise funds and support this incredible charity.
Ciara Redmond Said…
“I think everyone has been touched in some shape or form by cancer. It is an awful disease, and I hope our fundraising goes towards research aimed at finding a cure. The Macmillan nurses looked after both my grandad and auntie, and they were amazing to not only them but to us as a family, so I would like to return their generosity and kindness by giving back a little to say thank you.
I organise the Macmillan Coffee Morning at the Brimsdown office once a year, but I would love to take part in more fundraising events in the future. I think it boosts team morale amongst us and provides the perfect opportunity to engage with people within Kelly Group that we may not have spoken to before.
I support charities within my free time as well and have previously done the Race for Life, Walk All Over Cancer and supported different charity organisations over the years.
I love this quote by Oscar Wilde: “The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention”. I think this fits in well with the Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning as every donation makes a difference. I think events like these, always bring a sense of happiness to our colleagues as we come together to support a good cause while having fun. In the future, I would love to take part and help organise more events like this within the group.”
Ciara’s coffee morning raised a fantastic £228.58 for Macmillan Cancer Support. A huge thanks to our Kelly Group Brimsdown team who showed their support and to Ciara for organising an excellent fundraising event.
