In this spotlight interview, Kelly Group is delighted to introduce Navneet Bhatt (IT Manager) who discusses our IT Department's current innovations and how they support and protect our business.
I started my journey with Kelly Group as an IT Manager fifteen years ago, when the team consisted of 3 people, and I have had the pleasure of being a part of a department that has grown both in size and in terms of the solutions we deliver.
I am responsible for the IT infrastructure, IT technologies and am heavily involved in the IT solutions and the day-to-day running of our support team. Thinking on your feet and multi-tasking with a calm and positive approach is absolutely key in my role and my passion for the sector along with 30 years of IT experience working in various IT Management roles allows me to influence the approach we take with the technology solutions in the Group.
In a typical week, my schedule is quite diverse. It is common for me to be addressing both small and largescale IT issues with the team whilst regularly providing solutions to the Group using the skillset I have collated throughout my working career.
What I find most enjoyable about my role are the challenges it presents. When we are approached with a problem, it becomes our responsibility as a department to deliver a solution promptly and efficiently whilst the creative aspect of our job lies in finding innovative ways to address these challenges in a calm, friendly, positive and approachable manner.
The department is involved in a vast amount of real-time monitoring to ensure that we have the maximum uptime possible. This is in tandem with real-time dynamic alerting on our IT security posture – something that is a crucial part of what we do. These monitoring platforms also allow us to improve our IT environment, IT security and also streamline this year on year.
As we operate within the UK infrastructure industry whilst also being classified as ‘key workers’, we are continually targeted by cyber-criminal groups. Just six months ago, the government highlighted the cyber risks to UK’s infrastructure, including gas, electric, and telecoms, making us prime targets for cyber-attacks. Therefore, ensuring the safety of our digital environment and maintaining a strong focus on our security posture is absolutely imperative.

The implementation of and development of our MDM (Mobile Device Management) environments, which is a software solution that provides us with granular control over the applications, policies and security delivered on our business mobile devices has significantly streamlined device management, ensuring a secure and efficient mobile experience for our workforce.
Furthermore and over the last ten years we have shifted our infrastructure and our IT solutions towards innovative cloud services through various next-generation technologies which has been a key part of how we deliver the IT solutions in the Group whilst making them more efficient, scalable and robust. This all ties into ensuring that we can deliver the best IT solutions and service we can.
It is an absolute pleasure to be a part of both a talented and committed team here at Kelly Group whilst also being very grateful to work with so many good people within the group. Both the department and the group is a special place to work and I look forward to the year ahead which will no doubt be full of challenges, innovations, growth and moving forward in a positive direction.
