How long have you been working for Kelly Group?
I joined Kelly Group 4 years ago.
What positions have you held throughout your tenure?
I started my career journey as a driver for Kelly Rail, night store manager at our old Ellie Road site then Brimsdown, yard supervisor and in May 2023, I was delighted to be promoted to Depot Manager.
What does a typical week look like?
I’ve got a variety of responsibilities as Yard Supervisor which include placing ambient orders, organise waste and metal skips, order stock and account for income generated by our local canteen. I am the go-to person at Brimsdown for any site related issues or if anything is broken.
Do you have any set goals in mind for the next 12 months?
I would like to be involved with more charity projects. I enjoy helping people in need. I recently supported our nationwide foodbank collection for Trussell Trust with a larger amount of non-perishable goods donations with the generous support of my local community. I published a Facebook post within my local community’s group which generated involvement by my neighbours. I was collecting donations for weeks before bringing them all to our Kelly Group collection point.
What three words best describe your role?
Before working for Kelly Group, what was the most unusual or interesting job you ever had?
I had a furniture assembly / installation business providing service for businesses and their customers and I was proud to obtain a contract with Harrods. We used to carry out shopfloor display changes over night between 11pm – 3am – we were not allowed to complete works outside of these hours. Harrods is made up of tunnels and staff escalators where we could get new display items in – the public had no idea a major installation was happening overnight. Through these furniture brands at Harrods, I had the pleasure to install furniture in many celebrity homes including Noel Gallagher, Paul Gleason, Ringo Starr and loads of footballers. I installed the world’s oldest table in existence it is 10,000 years old and London’s most expensive sofa which cost around £85K.
If you could switch your job with anyone else for one week, whose job would you want to experience?
Tom Hardy because everyone says I look a lot like him.
What advice do you have for new Kelly Group engineers coming into the business?
Take those colleagues around you who are doing an excellent job as an example and try to do better then that.
Can you tell us about the support channels that are available for our workforce?
I’ve got amazing support from people around me. I’m part of a great team and we all support each other. Even if you’re part of a small team, there are many good people within the company and there is always someone who you can rely on for advice.
What 3 words would your friends/family use to describe you?
What is your proudest moment?
The birth of my daughter, Autumn Frost - she’s 12 and the biggest shoe collector I personally know!
