Kelly Group is delighted to introduce Adam Marcinkowski who was recently presented with our Elite Drivers Club Top Driver Award by Driving Risk Managers; Ryan Sharp and John Vidamour.
Based on a random selection - the ‘Top Driver Award’ is presented every six months to one of the top 10 drivers from the group’s nationwide pool of Elite Drivers. The Driving Risk team is currently on the road for the ‘Elite Drivers Club Road Show’ highlighting the importance of safe driving and top tips on how to become a member. It was the perfect opportunity to surprise Adam with the Top Driver Award trophy and a brand-new hybrid company car.
Adam started his journey with Kelly Group as an Engineer in 2016 and due to his extensive experience and knowledge of the telecommunication industry he was soon promoted into a New to Field Team Manager.
He is now looking after 20 New to Field Engineers and coaches them for the first six months of their Kelly Group journey. Audits completed by Adam are focusing on engineers’ equipment, health and safety practices, correct PPE as well as the condition of their vans and individual Samsara Safety Scores.
Adam currently drives an impressive 3200 miles a month in a safe manner setting a leading example for the group’s nationwide fleet.
Adam Said:
“I was really surprised when Ryan presented the award to me – I wasn’t suspecting anything. Receiving a brand-new company car was an even bigger surprise; it is wonderful to be appreciated for your hard work.
In my opinion, the Elite Drivers Club is a fantastic initiative for our workforce, it encourages our drivers to be more cautious on the road. Since the launch 10 months ago, I can already see a positive change in New to Field Engineers’ attitude towards safe driving. I take every opportunity to bring this topic up whether I am out in the field auditing engineers or during our weekly meetings.
I moved to the UK in 2006 and started working as an electrician. I always had a passion for this trade due to many years within the telecommunication industry while working in my home country of Poland, so I was delighted when I had the opportunity to join Kelly Group.
What I love the most about this job is the people I am surrounded by; they are all so supportive of each other. I am also proud to work for a brand that isn’t afraid to explore new industries.”
Adam’s Winning Safety Tip
“The most important safety tip I can give is to watch your speed and avoid harsh braking. It is tempting to speed on 20mph roads however you need to resist the temptation - these limits were implemented for your own and others safety on the road.
Another important tip is to prepare for the next working day. Spend 30 mins each weekend to clean and organise your van. This simple practice will make you more efficient throughout the day and will result in you keeping to your schedule. Planning your route will also help to create an efficient working day.”
