Our fathers, partners, brothers, and friends are facing a health crisis, yet it’s rarely talked about.
We can’t afford to stay silent.
Kelly Group is delighted to return to the Movember Business Club supporting the movement by raising funds and awareness for men’s health, while uniting our nationwide workforce with many exciting fundraising activities.
We’re excited to have 16 workplace ambassadors across the country supporting our 2022 campaign. Our ambassadors have been working hard over the past couple of months organising a wide range of new fundraising activities while, bringing back some of our employee’s favourites from last year. With the help of our Workplace Ambassadors, we’re encouraging our workforce to create team events or individual challenges ensuring our Kelly Group activities are spanning the nation from Glasgow to Kent.

Wrapping up our 1st Week of Fundraising
Our Kelly Group workforce have been incredibly busy during the 1st week of Movember raising funds in support of this year’s Movember movement with two key events.
Carving out some time for Halloween fun, we were excited to host a spooky pumpkin carving competition to start off our Movember fundraising activities.
With 30 determined carvers competing for a Friday afternoon off, we seen many incredible designs from our Wembley, Dunstable, Nuneaton and Brimsdown offices.
Pumpkins were judged locally in the following two categories: Give ‘em Pumpkin to Talk About (pumpkins with accessories, props, or unique subjects) and Best Classic Jack-O-Lantern (traditional pumpkin carving).
Special judges announced their local winners on 1st November - a huge congratulations to everyone who took part and to our champions:
Wembley winners
Manuela LaFalce, Colette Sweeney, Steph McDermott
Brimsdown winners
Ovidiu Orosan, Kinga Vagany
Dunstable winners
Ryan Morley, Alessi Thomas
Nuneaton winners
Nuneaton Office Team (Corey Walrond, Aimee Day, Daniel Lowton), Recruitment Team 2 (Elise Frost, Brooklyn Day)
On Wednesday 2nd November, we took some time out to welcome our Movember Corporate Partnerships Manager, Daisy Downing to our virtual men’s health talk.
Daisy delivered an informative talk covering areas including the charity’s history and why they exist, background on their three causes and how they are taking action when it comes to facing Prostate cancer, Testicular cancer, Mental Health and Suicide Prevention head on, and how our support will have an impact on men’s health globally. This was a fantastic interactive session where participants had the opportunity to ask questions or share personal experiences on the above subject matters.
This virtual event was available for the group’s workforce to join individually from their devices, or as a group from pre-booked locations with our Kelly Group Movember Workplace Ambassadors.
Daisy has introduced us to a wide range of amazing resources funded by generous donations over the years which are all available for FREE via the official Movember website.
Free Men’s Health Resources
Testicular Cancer and Prostate Cancer
Nuts and Bolts (Testicular cancer) and True North (Prostate Cancer) are two interactive online tools that have everything you need to know from: what the cancers are, the signs and symptoms to spot, how to perform a self-examination or speak to a GP about a PSA test, guidance with managing the symptoms of treatment and support services. These tools can be used by men going through cancer, as well as their loved ones and caregivers, to ensure they have a solid foundation of support.
Mental Health
Movember Conversations is a free online tool designed to help you feel more confident in reaching out and having a conversation with a friend or colleague who may be struggling. Movember launched this tool during lockdown last year to help the Movember community, and a recent survey of users found that 94% of respondents felt that they learned new skills and information as a result of experiencing the tool.
Family Man has been developed by Movember alongside leading global child behaviour experts. It’s backed by evidence-based parenting strategies that actually work which they’ve tested with hundreds of families. It’s especially helpful for kids 2 to 8 but can be used outside this age range. Family Man has recommendations for correcting misbehaviour, while reinforcing love and care.
Movember has an official YouTube channel which showcases a range of informative videos about the work they do within the mental health space and a breakdown of the different signs to look out for with someone who may be struggling.
