Kelly Rail was engaged by Thales to undertake the installation of cabling and assets on the signalling JNUP project in order to provide a Transmission Based Train Control ( TBTC) system on the Northern Line.
The project involved installing within vast stations and track sections and was complex working around an ageing existing infrastructure that was vital to maintain the safe operation of the network with no impact to customers.
Our client required the installation of Volume 2 signalling cables and assets along the majority of the Northern Line from Waterloo to Edgware, including large installations in Camden Town and Golders Green (including depot).
The cabling involved working within tunnels; inverts; vents shafts; machine rooms and required specialist skills such as rope access, gauging engineers and roof top working.
Conducting pre-install surveys to identify project risks to facilitate a successful installation, ensuring a safe system of work and environmental controls during installations.
Works also included the control and transportation of all materials; maintaining records where installed; and effective stock management of available cable lengths for installation.
Maintaining the safe operation of the network for our client was achieved with the active participative approach to health and safety by all those working on project.
Delivering project to clients program and timescales.
Actively improving delivery and safety on site through ongoing staff development, driven by health & safety and environmental audits.
