News Kelly ITS BS11000 Journey

Over the past year, Kelly Integrated Transport Services has been on a journey to achieve accreditation to BS11000, the British Standard providing a framework for Collaborative Business Relationships. We believe that working within formal Collaborative Relationships both supports our Corporate Objectives and will underpin a long-standing culture of partnering and collaboration within our business. The potential benefits and added value that working to this standard will bring to all our partners - Customer/Supplier, Internal/External - mean that achievement of the accreditation is a key strategic goal for Kelly ITS.

On 6 and 7 November 2012, we had our external BSI Stage One Assessment of our BS11000 Procedures, Processes and Evidence. This was a rigorous audit intended to establish the preparedness of the business for the Stage Two Assessment, and the commitment to Collaborative working within the business.

We are delighted to report that the Audit went extremely well, with no observations or non-conformances.

We are now working towards our Stage Two Audit which is planned for February 2013, and this will involve significant further work. Following the success of the first audit, we can be confident that we have both the commitment of the business and the procedures to successfully achieve accreditation. We look forward to advising you of our success at Stage Two, together with our accreditation to this important Standard. Moreover, we are excited by the prospect of working in formal collaborations with our key partners.

Supportive comment

Philip Sellwood, Chief Executive of the Energy Saving Trust commented:
"Congratulations to Kelly Communications Plant for winning the Energy Saving Trust Fleet Hero Award for Best Large Private Sector. The Fleet Hero Awards highlights those who have not only taken steps to help the environment but also to save money and resources. This is a great example for others to follow."

Transport Minister Norman Baker MP said:
"It gives me a great pleasure to support the Energy Saving Trust's Fleet Hero Awards and in recognising the great achievements that organisations are making to reduce emissions and costs from their fleets. Fleets play a crucial role in supporting the UK economy, but they also have a key role to play in reducing carbon emissions from road transport.

"While much of the debate on tackling climate change focuses on long term solutions, fleets can make an active and meaningful contribution today. Organisations both large and small can make a real difference through procuring greener, cleaner vehicles, or improving fuel consumption through driver training or simply by reducing business travel. The excellent efforts and innovation shown by the award winners and nominees give me great encouragement that the fleet industry can and will meet these challenges."
